Will TradeZero ever close out positions in my account?

Yes. TradeZero may close out (liquidate) positions at its discretion and without prior notice if your account poses a risk.

Common reasons include:

  • Low account equity or margin deficiencies
  • Failure to meet a margin call
  • High concentration in one or more positions
  • Excessive risk due to volatility or market conditions

Short Position Considerations:

  • Short positions may be covered without notice if shares can no longer be borrowed
  • This may occur due to:
  • Reg SHO Rule 204 requirements
  • Broker recalls

Important:

  • If you cover your position and a forced buy-in also occurs, you may end up with a long position

Additional Information:

  • Liquidations may occur during regular or extended trading hours
  • Positions may also be reduced to prevent large margin calls or excessive risk
  • You are responsible for maintaining sufficient equity in your account at all times"
