Shares of U.S.-listed companies exposed to Greenland surged on Monday after the U.S. and Denmark reached a deal on security arrangements for the Arctic territory.
Shares of Greenland Energy soared more than 154% during premarket trading, with Greenland Mines up more than 70% and Critical Metals Corp nearly 27% higher.
The agreement, which is expected to be signed during the United Nations General Assembly this week, will see the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland enter into a pact to develop a significant military presence in the territory while blocking Washington’s adversaries from building their own bases there.

US stock futures rose on Friday morning as investors continued to adjust to the Federal Reserve's first rate hike in three years and concerns about artificial intelligence's capabilities.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (YM=F) rose 0.1%, the S&P 500 (ES=F) edged up 0.2%, and the Nasdaq-100 (NQ=F) climbed 0.4%.
Stocks rebounded on Thursday, driven by gains in tech stocks and supported by falling oil prices and bond yields. Aethlon Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEMD) announced a definitive all-stock merger agreement with North Immunology, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company developing bispecific antibodies for immune and inflammatory diseases.
The combined company plans to advance NOR-101, a potentially best-in-class, half-life-extended IL-13 x IL-18 bispecific antibody being developed for atopic dermatitis and other immune-mediated diseases.

The Federal Reserve's September policy meeting kicked off Tuesday morning, with markets overwhelmingly expecting the Fed to raise interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday amid persistently high inflation.
Such a move would mark the Fed's first increase in the federal funds rate since 2023, when the central bank concluded its post-pandemic hiking campaign. However, inflation has remained above the Fed's 2% target for more than five years, with the war in the Middle East serving as the latest driver of higher prices.

US stock futures edged lower on Tuesday morning as investors braced for the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on Wednesday and monitored the fallout from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's essay on AI safety concerns.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average led the decline, falling 0.6%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.5% and Nasdaq-100 futures dropped 0.7%.
