Qualcomm falls after China opens antitrust probe into US chipmaker

China has launched an antitrust investigation into U.S. semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm (QCOM) over its acquisition of Israel's Autotalks, China's market regulator said on Friday.

China's State Administration for Market Regulation said the probe would look at whether Qualcomm violated China's antitrust law by not lawfully declaring some details in its acquisition of the Israeli chip designer.

Qualcomm's shares were down 2.8% in premarket trading. Yahoo Finance reports.

Applied Digital finalized a new lease agreement with CoreWeave in August for an additional 150MW in North Dakota.

This brings the total anticipated contracted lease revenue to about $11 billion, which includes the $7 billion in revenue from the initial two 15-year leases with CoreWeave (CRWV) announced earlier this year. Yahoo Finance reports.

Delta Air Lines forecast a better-than-expected end to 2025 and a strong start to next year thanks to rising airfares and resilient luxury travel demand.

The airline on Thursday projected adjusted earnings of between $1.60 and $1.90 a share for the fourth quarter, compared with the $1.65 per share analysts polled by LSEG were expecting.

Revenue in the last three months of the year will grow as much as 4%, Delta said, above the 1.7% Wall Street expects. CNBC reports.

The company, which capitalised on the resurgence of baggy, loose-fit apparel among Gen Z customers, raised its 2025 sales and profit forecasts on Thursday. Reuters reports.

China has intensified enforcement of its import restrictions on U.S. chips, including Nvidia's (NVDA.O), artificial intelligence processors, the Financial Times reported, as Beijing sharpens its focus on promoting home-grown semiconductor production.

Chinese customs officials were dispatched to key ports to conduct strict checks on semiconductor shipments, the newspaper said on Friday, citing unidentified sources. Reuters reports.
