Is TradeZero Paper Trading 100% free to use?

How long can I use the Paper Trading account, and what features are included?

You can use your Paper Trading account for 30 days from the time you sign up—completely free, with no obligation. During this time, you'll have access to the full suite of features available on the platform of your choice (TZ1, ZeroPro, ZeroFree, or ZeroMobile), including: Free real-time NASDAQ Basic market data; Advanced charting and drawing tools; Over 80 technical indicators; Level 2 market depth (where applicable); Simulated trading of stocks, options and more; Short selling tools, including simulated locates. To continue using Paper Trading beyond the 30-day trial, simply maintain a funded live account.

What happens to my Paper Trading account, if my funded account balance drops to $0?

After your initial 30-day period, you must maintain a balance of at least $250 to continue accessing your Paper Trading account on a month-to-month basis. If your balance falls below $250 at the end of any calendar month, your Paper Trading access will be revoked.

If I lose access to Paper Trading, can I regain it?

Yes. To restore your Paper Trading access, simply refund your account back above the required minimum. Once your balance is refunded, you can relink your Paper Trading account and resume paper trading—free of charge.

Platform fees are billed on the 1st of each month. If you subscribe after the 15th, the fee will be prorated for that month. 

To avoid being charged for the following month, any platform cancellations or changes must be submitted by the last business day of the current month.

The Client Portal updates account balances once per trading day at 22:00 ET.

Profits, losses, commissions, and other fees are reflected in the balance after trades have settled.

The trading platform, on the other hand, updates profits, losses, and locate fees in real time, which may cause temporary differences between the two.
