President Trump is expected to greet Chinese President Xi Jinping at Joint Base Andrews, beginning Xi's first visit to Washington, D.C., in 11 years. While major policy breakthroughs are not expected, discussions are set to cover trade, Iran, rare earths, and artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, signs of a potential easing in US-Iran tensions pushed oil prices lower. President Trump said US and Iranian officials met for several hours at the UN on Tuesday, renewing hopes of a possible truce. Brent crude traded below $100 per barrel, while WTI crude fell below $90.
