🛍️ Why PDD shares rallied even after a mediocre earnings report
For years, e-commerce company PDD Holdings, known for its rock-bottom prices, sold investors on scale and speed: more users, more merchants, more orders, more growth.
But as it matures, the company has shifted that formula to something slower and less glamorous, better merchant relations, deeper supply chains, wider logistics coverage and a more compliant global business.
That may help to explain why the market looked past the company's latest quarterly report issued last week, which looked a bit messy.
Rather than panic, investors sent the stock up as much as nearly 10% the day of the announcement.
That suggests they saw the Temu owner less as a company in breakdown, and more as one trying to evolve from a bruising stretch of domestic competition and mounting regulatory pressure at home and abroad. Benzinga reports.

Aluminum futures on the London Metal Exchange have jumped almost 6% since two major producers confirmed attacks by Iranian drones and missiles over the weekend.
The Middle East accounts for about 9% of global production, but its impact is being amplified because constraints on output elsewhere have eroded inventories, leaving the market with little buffer to cushion any shocks. Yahoo Finance reports.
